People & Capability Advisor - Fixed Term

We are seeking a People & Capability Advisor to join our dynamic People Operations Team for an 8-month fixed-term contract to backfill a secondment. As a People & Capability Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of support and collaboration. You will interact with a diverse range of people leaders across the Council, advising, coaching, and providing expert guidance on employment relations, change management, performance management, and people development. Your ability to build strong relationships will empower our leaders and staff, boosting their ability to succeed in their roles. This is a diverse and interesting role that will allow you to stretch your skills and add real value to a dynamic organisation.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Act as the first point of contact for general people-related queries, providing insightful guidance and support.
- Advise on best practices in employment relations, change management, remuneration, and performance management.
- Collaborate with leaders to create and implement tailored solutions that foster employee growth and engagement.
- Identify and drive improvements in HR processes and documentation, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders to nurture a supportive and empowering work environment.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training initiatives that enhance skills and promote employee well-being.

**Ideally you will also have**:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in HR, particularly in employee relations and capability development.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to relationship building.
- Ability to analyze and enhance systems and processes for improved efficiency.
- A passion for boosting employee experience and fostering a culture of engagement.
