Do you want to work with hapori (communities), hapū and iwi to meet their aspirations for recovery from the devastation of Cyclone Gabrielle across impacted communities in Tai Tokerau; in particular in the Kaipara and mid north regions. We are looking for someone to work closely with impacted hapori and hapu and advise the Cyclone Gabrielle Appeal Trustees on the distribution of public donations.
This is a.75 role (30 hours per week) over a 2-year fixed term period.
The Cyclone Gabrielle Appeal Trust is an independent Charitable Trust, with the Secretariat managed within the Hāpai Hapori Community Operations business group in Te Tari Taiwheuna Department of Internal Affairs. Hāpai Hapori has a network of Community Advisors across Aotearoa.
This is important mahi, where you will make a difference to the lives of many and you will have the opportunity to build relationships to understand and support aspirations for recovery.
Experience in hapori or hapū led development and te reo Māori me ngā tikanga would be beneficial in this role.
Travel is involved across Kaipara and mid north regions, and a driver's license is essential.

- proven skills, knowledge, and experience in providing advice that builds and empowers the communities, hapū, iwi, marae, and voluntary organisations
- data analysis and analytical skills including the ability to interpret financial information
- experience in assessing organisational performance and providing advice to community and voluntary organisations
- ability to plan, organise and manage work effectively to meet deadlines.
