Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The key role of the Director of Nursing, Clinical Excellence is to work in partnership with and provide advice on patient safety and quality improvement to the General Manager, Clinical Excellence and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) by;
- Providing patient safety/quality improvement knowledge and nursing leadership to support the work of the Centre of Clinical Excellence
- Support the wider clinician team with the aim of improving care and reducing preventable patient harm.
- Drive programmes that reduce the harm that clinicians may contribute to including those areas considered as nurse sensitive indicators of care.
- Work with Operational Managers and consumers to build safe evidence based, patient centred models of care.
- Oversee the work of the clinical team that report to this role.Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team

**To be successful in the role you will have**:

- Experience in leading organisational wide quality & safety initiatives
- Strong external networks and other DHBs and providers
- Demonstrated skills is people leadership
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in planning and delivery of projects and initiatives
- Coaching & mentoring skillsEssential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations:

- Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- Post-graduate qualification in health and/or management as a minimum
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Health Sector
- Knowledge of the implications of the Treaty of Waitangi with a commitment to biculturalism
- Sound knowledge and understanding of professional ethics.E pā ana ki a tatou - About us
