We have an opportunity for a motivated, registered nurse to join the Older Persons Assessment and Liaison (OPAL) team.

OPAL is a progressive team of nurses who assess patients in the acute care setting, for continuing care needs, including rehabilitation. The OPAL team facilitate patient flow through the Organisation. An effective OPAL nurse requires critical thinking and the ability to make comprehensive assessment of patients with complex needs. You will need a sound clinical knowledge about gerontology and rehabilitation.

As a frontline ambassador for the service, you will possess excellent communication skills that will enable you to develop positive relationships with a number of services across Waikato Hospital. This team provides leadership opportunities and prides itself on being progressive and supportive. We encourage ongoing professional growth and development and we place importance on valuing people.

Experience in a leadership role or demonstration of PDRP proficient/expert (or equivalent) is an advantage. If you are passionate about older persons health and rehabilitation, would like to work in a service focused on excellent patient care and staff development, and would like to be a key influencer about service direction and innovation please apply.
