The Library Assistant is a full-time role based onsite at the Canterbury Medical Library, reporting to the Deputy Medical Librarian. In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality customer services that support the University of Otago, Christchurch and Canterbury District Health Board.

You will be a highly motivated individual, committed to providing excellent customer service to join our library team. You will have excellent communication skills and ability to work with enthusiasm, speed and accuracy. **_About our team/Mō te tīma_**

The Canterbury Medical Library supports the University of Otago’s School of Medicine in Christchurch and also provides library services to the Canterbury District Health Board. One of nine University of Otago Libraries, Canterbury Medical Library is situated in Christchurch in the heart of Te Papa Hauora (the city’s dedicated health precinct), next to Christchurch Hospital.

Our campus is home to over 1,000 students. One third are medical students in their three clinical years of training and physiotherapy students in their final clinical year. Two thirds are postgraduate health sciences students undertaking a range of programmes to PhD level. Our student body is diverse with more than 20 nationalities represented.

- Have excellent interpersonal skills with extensive customer service experience.
- Have a high level of computer literacy and proficiency in the Microsoft suite of programmes.
- Preferably have familiarity with bibliographic databases.

This is a fixed term (16 months), full-time position (37.5 hours), Monday to Friday. It requires a 5-6pm shift on a weekday. This position is located in Christchurch.
