My client is a very successful, well known, nationally based company, that supplies a diverse range of equipment to the construction industries of New Zealand.

**The Opportunity**:
On their behalf, we are seeking the services of an experienced NZ Service Manager, to manage the national service and repair function across 3 sites.

They will take the lead for building capability across the companies after sales service and repair centres, identifying and leading change initiatives, to optimise the efficiency of this function and the people that work within it.

Supported by supervisors, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the repair centres, ensuring that levels of quality, performance and service are achieved.

**The Role**
- Manage the service and repair teams (x3 centres) effectively, to ensure that they are working efficiently and are meeting service standards
- Focus on continuous improvement of productivity and service quality.
- Involved in HR Responsibilities, including Recruitment and Performance Management of staff.
- Identify any gaps in training/knowledge and organise required training.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies & procedures
- Ensures that appropriate inventory expense control is maintained across each service centre.
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring stock integrity of parts and tools
- Responsible for updating service centre procedure manuals.
- Ensure any warranty claims are processes in an appropriate manner.
- Ensure all contracted service agents have up-to-date service contracts
- Ensure the quality and standard of work performed by contracted service agents.
- Performing audits to ensure company procedures are being adhered to
- Regular travel to both North Island and Christchurch based service repair centres.
- Ensure product, service and technical concerns are effectively managed.
- Manage the financials across the service centres, implementing cost efficiencies
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all internal departments, from sales, warehousing, through to the finance department
- Preparation of management reports

**About You**:

- Ability to manage, motivate and build a positive culture, for teams across 3 service centres
- Strong leadership skills in a technical service and repair environment
- People management experience, including management of contractors.
- Be able to travel regularly to other branches.
- Organised, with strong time management, planning and prioritising skills.
- Able to solve problems, make decisions and manage work streams.
- Strong results orientation, underpinned by personal accountability.
- Possess positive and proactive leadership techniques and practices.
- A technical capability is desired, (previous Service Technician exp), but not essential. What is the essential is the understanding of a service/ repair environment.
- Ability to identify areas needing improvement and act on these
