About us
CADS are the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in New Zealand and provides free community and inpatient AOD treatment from a number of locations across Auckland. CADS are committed to empowering the community to reduce the harm associated with substance use and to promote recovery and wellbeing.
About the team
PPS is a multi-disciplinary regional service which works with pregnant women and parents of children under three years of age who are experiencing problematic alcohol and/or other drug use, are disconnected from health and social services and who may be experiencing multiple and complex problems including family violence, physical and mental health issues, inadequate housing, socio-economic issues and a lack of support.
The aim of PPS is to improve outcomes for the unborn and young children via interventions that reduce harm and positively impact the young children's' first 1000 days of brain development, so as to enhance their future health related trajectories.
Our team is resourced to provide assertive outreach and spend time and energy engaging with tangata whai I te ora.
About you

**You will be an experienced clinician with a qualification in**: applied alcohol and drug studies, nursing, social work, counselling, psychology or occupational therapy.
The Team Leader position brings an opportunity to enrich clinical practice and knowledge in the burgeoning area of early intervention for vulnerable children and to make a difference in the lives of these parents and hence that of their children. Some of this is via direct contact with clients, but largely through supporting their clinicians in their practice and contributing to on-going improvement of team practice and processes.
This is an opportunity to get involved in evidence based early intervention which addresses the needs of those children's parents and strengthens the family environment utilising client led strength based goal planning. You will have overall responsibility for our clinicians working with clients using assertive outreach, advocacy, service co-ordination, risk management and working within a harm minimisation recovery model.
Essential
A sense of social justice and enjoying working with people in all their complexity is required. You will have a non-judgemental attitude, excellent engagement and communication skills, and an ability to work autonomously within a team. You will also have:

- Full registration with professional body (dapaanz, nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or related fields)
- Full, clean drivers licence
- Legal right to work in NZ
- Ability to implement Te Tiriti O Waitangi in your daily work

Preferred
- Clinical experience in addictions or mental health or similar
- Comfortable working in a range of settings including probation, prisons, NGOs or
- Comfortable working with other health and social service providers including Oranga Tamariki
- Lived experience as a consumer or whanau member
- Experience in group facilitation
