We are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children’s Hospital, located in central Auckland.

We are part of Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. Te Whatu Ora leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

As the Psychotherapy Professional Lead your focus will be to:

- To provide professional leadership of a specific allied health occupational group
- To provide assurance to the organisation of the clinical safety of the service for the relevant allied health discipline
- To work in partnership at the relevant level to implement the business unit strategy/service plans in line with directorate and ADHB’s values, strategy, goals
- To ensure the clinical/managerial/professional leadership partnership is maximised to promote quality clinical outcomes for the service and ADHB’s service users
- To demonstrate outcomes and articulate the value of the profession
- To hold discipline-specific accountability for the professional practice of all psychotherapists at ADHB
- To provide assurance to the organization around skill mix and professional/ clinical practice, models of care and the safety of the service
- Safeguard high standards of care by creating an environment in which excellence in relevant discipline can flourish
- To identify opportunities for improvement and promote quality clinical outcomes for the service and service users
- To lead discipline specific workforce development strategies including maintenance of robust workforce pipelines and oversight of student/trainee programmes
- To demonstrate positive clinical, professional and service improvement outcomes and to articulate the value of the physiotherapy profession
- Represent discipline-specific allied health, scientific and technical matters (across the healthcare system where required) at the executive level to the ADHB Chief Health Professions Officer
- To lead the change.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

Given the importance of this role, we are seeking someone who prides themselves on their leadership, professionalism and puts our patients and their whānau at the centre of all that they do.

In addition you will have:

- A relevant Allied Health Tertiary and post-graduate Qualification
- A current registration and APC
- Previous experience in leadership roles
- Project Management, crisis management and risk assessment experience
