**About Us**
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in your next role?
Why? As a society, we need to decarbonise and accelerate the transition to alternative energy sources. Existing solutions are expensive and disparate, with limited functionality.
Basis is driven by purpose, real innovation, and ambition. We have a talented team spread across New Zealand, with a creative space by the beach in Takapuna, and a Design Lab in Christchurch where our physical products come to life.
We recently closed our Series A capital raise, so we're well-funded and ready to grow. Our team is smart, curious and has some big goals - so if you’re interested in joining a fast-growing and startup that is design-led and puts people at its core, then we’d love to hear from you
We're also currently in stealth mode, so check out our website and we'll share more with you during the recruitment process
**The Role**
We're looking to grow our supply chain team. In this newly created sourcing specialist position, you will play an integral role by setting up industry best practices, driving efficiencies by developing and establishing our supplier base, sourcing strategy, material planning, purchase order management, and supplier management systems.
This role will give you the ideal opportunity to contribute to all things supply chain at Basis. While your primary focus will be sourcing and purchasing, you will have the chance to contribute and shape up our material planning and supplier quality management.
Some of the things that you might be involved in include:
- Developing and implementing sourcing strategies that meet and support cross-functional team requirements
- Actively participating and supporting new product introduction with sourcing at each stage of product development
- Initiating, leading and implementing cost-down initiatives
- Preparing RFX and negotiating contracts
- Developing and implementing best purchase order life cycle management practices
- Monitoring the status of deliveries and proactively communicating any schedule changes to internal stakeholders
- Anticipating new supplier needs and qualifying them
- Developing long standing relationships with key suppliers
- Conducting supplier assessments and on site audits, and completing supplier performance reporting and monitoring
- Participating in developing, testing, piloting and implementing supply chain systems and tools as required

- 5+ Years experience in sourcing, planning or purchasing in electronics manufacturing or a similar industry
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (such as Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering)
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings & Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Experience with material requirement planning (MRP) & enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Proven experience in creating and implementing supply chain process related to sourcing, purchasing, planning, and supplier management
- Strong organisation skills and an eye for detail - you’ll be juggling a number of things at once
- An ability to take initiative, follow through on what you say you’ll do, and own your mistakes
- Clear, candid and concise communication skills - both written and verbal, but also an ability to be kind and compassionate when dealing with others
Some nice to haves include:
- Ability to communicate, both written and verbal, in Mandarin
**Benefits**
- A competitive salary and employee share scheme (ESOP)
- A hybrid-first culture - work from home or come into the office, it's totally up to you
- Unlimited annual leave so that you can take the time that you need to re-energise
- Tools of trade, including laptop and headphones, and we also pay your phone bill

- A $200 one-off payment towards your home workstation
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion: Pride Committee and partnering with Pride Pledge, DEIB Committee, EEO Policy and well-being strategy
