Christchurch, New Zealand Christchurch City Council Full time

At the Christchurch City Council we are driven by our passion for creating a better future. We believe in working as one yet staying true to ourselves. Help make a positive impact on our community while enjoying a rewarding career of opportunities. Christchurch City Council, where it's possible to love what you do.

The Procurement team at the Christchurch City Council operates as an integral part of Corporate Services acting as a shared service provider and enabler to the Council's business units.

As a Procurement Contracts Officer you'll be conducting procurement in a 'centre-led' manner, the Procurement team champions the quality of execution of the end to end procurement process - from identifying business need, through to contract management. The department consists of a large team that provides safeguarding, servicing and shaping procurement activities across a wide range of Council requirements.

We're striving to add increasing value, across dynamic supply markets, while making a significant difference to the on-going recovery of our City and the region. To assist the Council in achieving its objectives, we've identified this challenging, but immensely rewarding, role.

With a focus on one or more allocated procurement categories, the key focus points of this role will be assisting the Engineer's Representative and Contracts Manager with the contract management actions for major maintenance contracts and the development and implementation of contract management plans. You'll also assist the Engineer's Representative and Contracts Manager with the monitoring and managing suppliers' and Council's performance against contractual terms throughout the contract lifecycle.

Being analytical will see you recording, monitoring and managing contract-related risks as directed by the Engineer's Representative and Contracts Manager and you will be managing administration for contract extensions, renewals and variations where requested and as directed by the Procurement and Contracts Lead. You'll also be supporting the procurement team with development and implementation of category strategies and will be an expert at developing and maintaining healthy, collaborative and effective relationships with Council's business units and suppliers.

Working for the Christchurch City Council allows you to contribute directly to the community and make a positive impact on the lives of residents and visitors. You will also benefit from:

- Access to training programmes, workshops, and development opportunities
- Flexible working arrangements - WFH, adjustable start and finish times, option to purchase extra leave.
- Collaboration - exposure to wider areas of the organisation
- Benefits - a variety of benefits for Council staff from health schemes to retail discounts.

Through collaboration, innovation, and a strong commitment to community, the council provides an environment where one's skills and passions can shine, making it an exceptional choice for those seeking purpose and impact in their career.
