Our Regulatory Engineering and Resource Consents department are seeking motivated, enthusiastic, and capable _Planners_ for the following teams:_
- Resource consent processing (Unit teams and Streamline teams); and
- Building Consent Plan checks
You will have the opportunity to play a key role in, and work on, a variety of development projects including:
- Comprehensive residential, commercial, retail, industrial, urban expansion regeneration, heritage, and urban and rural subdivision
- Sensitive rural and coastal areas
- Nationally and regionally significant infrastructure
- High profile events
- Māori outcomes (including marae and papakāinga)
- Protection of air, land, and water resources

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
You will bring with you anywhere from entry level to four years+ of planning experience, and a tertiary qualification in planning or similar preferably acknowledged by NZPI. With a strong working knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 and an awareness of the coming legislative changes, you will have a high level of customer service and collaboration skills with excellent case management, written and verbal communication.
Most of all, you will have a desire to be part of Local Government where you can make a difference and help us to obtain good environmental outcomes
While we encourage the use of public transport, you will also need to hold a full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence to drive our Council vehicles.

Salary range $70,125 - $90,750 (depending on skillset and experience).
