**The role**
Reporting to the Head of Electricity Operations, as the Network Operations Plannning Lead, you’ll be responsible for providing oversight and leadership to manage planned outages on Northpower’s electricity network with your team. You will co-ordinate Network outages for maintenance and project activities with service delivery teams and contractors to optimise network availability.
- Based in Whangarei, you will also:
- Ensure accurate preparation of switching instructions to release network equipment safely according to the required timeframe, service level agreement and industry rules
- Schedule Access Permits to minimise outage times and avoid planning overlaps
- Liaise with external customers for their equipment releases

- **About you**
You are an experienced, natural leader with an electrical registration and/or tertiary qualification in Electrical, Power Engineering or similar. We're looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with good working knowledge of electrical distribution networks
- High attention to detail with a strong aptitude for accuracy to record operating data
- Exceptional relationship management skills, including influencing of key stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of relevant NZ legislation and regulation, policies and procedures including health & safety, electricity is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and enthusiasm to learn new systems quickly
- Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
- Ability to prioritise and work with tight deadlines
- Good judgment and solid decision making under pressure
- Tenacity in taking problems through to successful outcomes
- Ability to foresee challenges, read situations and respond efficiently and effectively
