**The opportunity - Te tūranga**

The role of the Data Visualisation Specialist is to build data solutions and drive change through data to join our Data Engineering team. The Data Visualisation specialist will act as the bridge between our data engineering squad and TVNZ's business users, data analysts, data scientists & research analysts.
- You will partner with internal stakeholders to build complex engineering solutions that answer strategic business questions with data, whilst also providing technical support to Data Scientists, Research Analysts and Data Analysts.
- Lead the development of advanced data engineering solutions using our Azure Data Platform
- Develop and maintain highly complex feature layer data models that allow TVNZ to get maximum value from its data, with high quality, clean, maintainable analytic code.
- Curate, organise and document data definitions, metrics and reporting environments across Azure Data Lake and PowerBI to unlock value and drive efficiency while ensuring data quality.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts & data scientists to develop innovative analytical products.
- Work closely with stakeholders to drive automation and identify where we can leverage our data to improve processes & decision making across the company.
- Support the Data Engineers and Data Visualisation teams to build, maintain and provide self-serve data and corporate dashboarding and reporting.
- Develop and communicate strong opinions on best practices in advanced engineering and analytics.

**What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei**
- Strong ability to talk about data to technical and non-technical people.
- Highly collaborative and experienced working with senior stakeholders, business owners, executives, data engineers and analysts,
- Analytics Engineering
- 4+ years relevant experience in both business and technical data space as an analyst, scientist, engineer or similar role.
- Demonstratable experience leading advanced analytical engineering projects from concept to operationalisation.
- Demonstratable hands-on experience in programming/scripting languages such as, Python (mandatory) or Scala; Querying languages such as SQL, Dax, or M query (in PowerBI context)
- Proven records of leading or extensively contributing to Data Modelling activities in enterprise environments, understand different modelling techniques and their pros and cons.
- Familiarity with using modern data platforms from various Cloud Service Providers, Azure platform preferred. Understand what the target use are cases for each of the offerings and have the experience implementing or operating these offerings.
- Experience tackling Big Data problems using Data Processing Platforms such as Apache Spark, especially in the Cloud offering such as Databricks.
- Experience with metadata management and data governance
- Data visualisation in Power BI
- Strong experience building and operationalising end-to-end data analytics visualisations and dashboards, delivering demonstrable value to the business and stakeholders.
- Excel in PowerBI, experience with design and implementation of PowerBI solutions with best practices in corporate environment.
