Bay of Plenty, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced Registered Nurse with community or infection control experience with an interest in sexual health? Would you like to use your nursing skills to improve and protect the health of the public? If you answered yes to these two questions, then we have the job for you
Toi Te Ora Public Health provides public health services across both the Bay of Plenty and Lakes regions to diverse communities in some of the most attractive and interesting parts of New Zealand. This is a unique opportunity to add your nursing perspective to our public health team.
You will contribute to the delivery of our health protection programme with a focus on sexual health communities as well as lead and participate in other projects aimed at improving health outcomes for our communities.
Working within an established team of Communicable Disease Nurses, Health Protection Offices and Medical Officers of Health, you will assist with reducing ongoing risks to the public through advice, education, and responding to infections and outbreaks when they occur.
Addressing health inequalities for Māori and Pacific peoples is an important aspect of this role, so you will need a good understanding of how Te Tiriti o Waitangi should be applied to public health and be comfortable working with and alongside local Iwi and Hāpu to help them achieve their aspirations.
You must have permanent residency or a valid long-term working visa to be considered for this position.
