You will be organised, efficient and reliable, using your initiative to report on a mix of stories that matter, along with strong, comprehensive coverage of breaking news in Otago and Southland.

You will be ready to hit the road, relying on key contacts and sources to drive story ideas and deliver first-class regional journalism.

Working closely with RNZ's Dunedin-based reporter you will:

- Have superior writing, interviewing and live broadcasting skills
- Bring accuracy, attention to detail, curiosity and creativity to your work
- File written, audio and visual content to tight radio and digital deadlines
