We have an opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our market leading Financial Services team, based in Christchurch. This role will see you working on all aspects of financial services regulatory and general banking and finance work, a truly unique role within the Christchurch market and an area of law that Buddle Findlay lead in New Zealand. The team is led by Jan Etwell (Partner) and Rebecca Green (Special Counsel) who are experts in their field of practice. **The opportunity**

With a primary focus on providing advice to both domestic and offshore financial institutions, regulators, FinTech enterprises and other financial service providers, you'll cover a comprehensive range of areas. This includes funds management, financial product design, financial product and conduct legislation (both retail and wholesale), licensing and prudential supervision requirements, AML/CFT compliance, CCCFA, mortgagee sales, and creditor enforcement regulation. There may also be an opportunity to be involved in banking and finance transactional work including property and leveraged finance arrangements for a range of clients.

**What matters to us**
- 3 to 6 years PQE to join us as a Solicitor or Senior Solicitor, and
- 7 to 10 years PQE to join us as a Senior Associate
- Legal experience gained in either financial services regulatory, financial markets, or banking and finance fields, with at least some of that experience gained in New Zealand
- Worked within a private practice, in-house, or accounting/consulting firm environment
- Strong academic ability, with a willingness to tackle complex issues and the ability to think critically The ability to learn quickly, work with others seamlessly and draft to a high degree of quality
