The Continuous Improvement Unit has two short term roles available to support the reviews and inquiries work currently underway relating to the North Island Severe Weather events of January and February 2023. If you are seeking a fast paced, collaborative and meaningful contribution to learning lessons across the emergency management system then this could be for you Both roles start as soon as possible.

**The purpose of the Senior Advisor is to**:

- Support the Principal Advisor, Continuous Improvement to deliver a review of reviews report into the 2023 North Island Severe Weather events.
- Provide high quality lessons management analysis at high pace, including sound information management and documentation.
- Support the Principal Advisor with design and facilitation of lessons workshops

**Essential skills required**:

- Experience and knowledge of continuous improvement / lessons management.
- Experience in making qualitative and quantitative assessments
- Experience in persuading, influencing, building and maintaining effective collaborative relationships.
- Sound technical acumen, in particular with regards to IT and communication systems.
- Experience in working in an operational environment and operational decision making.
- Demonstrable understanding of causes of inequitable impacts of emergencies on populations, including Māori, Pacific peoples, the culturally and ethnically diverse, those for whom English is not their first language, seniors, children and those experiencing socio-economic deprivation, disability, ill health, or social or geographic isolation.
