This role is an exciting opportunity to expand your current primary care knowledge and skills and to support the future improvements in primary care service delivery and access to community healthcare services for our Northland population. We are looking for someone who understands and is comfortable working in improvement and change methodologies, and who is passionate about supporting equitable sustainable primary healthcare solutions.
**About Mahitahi Hauora**
Mahitahi Hauora is a primary health entity underpinned by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, our Kaupapa includes ensuring whanau and communities are able to achieve self-determined wellbeing, access to the services they determine they need, and to live a long and healthy life. We work collaboratively with community, primary healthcare providers and key partners to support general practices, Māori health providers and social sector agencies, in achieving better health outcomes for our Tai Tokerau population.
**The Position**
This position is based in Whangarei and supports a number of practices and providers across the greater Whangarei region. You will work alongside your GP Liaison colleagues in supporting practices and providers across primary healthcare programmes, improvement methodologies and equity strategies. This is a varied role that provides opportunity for growth in skill set, relationship management and quality and service improvement initiatives. You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic in your approach, understand the primary healthcare and community environment and be prepared to be flexible and innovative.
**To be considered for this position, you will need to provide evidence of the following**:
- A Registered Health Sector Professional with a relevant tertiary degree level qualification
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in primary/community healthcare
- Your knowledge of approaches to achieve equity in health outcomes
- Your experience in developing and manging relationships with health professionals
- An intermediate to advanced level of computer literacy across MS Office 365, Teams
- Experience in implementing change in an organisation
- Evidence of a confident communicator both spoken and written
- A demonstrable commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A current full NZ drivers licence
- NZ Citizen or Permanent resident or current open NZ work visa
While not essential, an understanding or experience in change management strategies, and
improvement methodology would be desirable, and some experience in primary care practice
management systems and analytics would be useful.
