We currently have opportunities for two Senior Field Services Advisers in our Forestry Engagement & Advice directorate. In this technical role you will play a part in delivering the Government's vision to provide an advisory service within the forest industry.
The Forestry Engagement and Advice directorate provides comprehensive forestry sector engagement and advice across the forestry and wood processing sector. It operates across the country in partnership with our external stakeholders to deliver initiatives, programmes, advice, and services that create value from forestry and trees, and ensure growth, resilience and participation across the forestry eco-system and supply chain.
The Key responsibilities for the role are (but are not limited to):

- Complete field verification tasks under Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service grants and partnership programmes, Forests Act and Climate Change Response Act relating to incentive schemes, sawmill inspections, harvest site inspections (under the Forests Act) and auditing and Field Measurement Approach work (under the Climate Change Response Act).
- Undertake field work supporting delivery of a range of cross-directorate and cross-ministry forestry and land management related initiatives including the Afforestation Grant Scheme (AGS) and the Erosion Control Funding Programme (ECFP), and any applicable land management grant schemes provided through Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service.
- Build and sustain positive working relationships with internal (MPI) and external stakeholders, through scheme outreach initiatives and the provision of forestry and land management information.
- Assist the wider directorate with local sector engagement, where appropriate.

We are looking for someone that is passionate about trees, forestry, and land management. The successful applicant will demonstrate the following attributes:

- Be experienced in managing and delivering projects, strong written communication skills and good time-management skills.
- Displays leadership qualities, including thought leadership, within respective areas of expertise.
- Excellent relationship management and workshop facilitation skills by creating and maintaining an effective relationship network both internally and externally.
- You will need to have a good level of fitness, enjoy the outdoors and be equally capable of working alone or part of a team.
- You will be required to travel for undertaking both work and training purposes, so must have the ability to be away for short periods of time as required.
