**The Role**
As a SCADA Control Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Tauriko manufacturing operations and be part of the Engineering Projects Team. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the delivery of the control system portion of larger-scale projects, ensure the company stays abreast of the latest control system developments, and provide day-to-day engineering technical support to the Tauriko site operations as required.
Your key responsibilities will include and not be limited to:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with Fletcher Building’s Health and Safety policy and standards.
- Drive electrical and control system safety-related upgrades on-site with effective design and documentation.
- External contractors’ management and monitoring.
- Maintain an effective process for network & control system design, installation, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Investigation of alternative solutions including best practice plants.
- Maintain effective communication with and guidance from the manufacturing team’s management in designing and delivery of process and plant improvement projects.
- Lead the network preventative maintenance checks on site and ensure preventative maintenance checks are recorded in MEX.
- Manage planned network and control systems maintenance for the Tauriko site
- Ensuring the safe operation of all plant and specialty product machinery and equipment.
- Allocating and booking the appropriate resources.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to control systems and process automation.
- Support a National implementation of Ignition SCADA in our other production sites
- Further develop MES across all parts of the business
**About You**
We would like to hear from you if you possess these qualifications, experiences, and skills:
- Tertiary qualification relevant to the role
- At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the gypsum plasterboard industry or similar manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in HMI & SCADA Design and Configuration - Ignition, VSD & Servo Drive and a good understanding of PLC programming
- Proficiency in the design and configuration of industrial communications networks, such as Ethernet/IP, BACnet, Modbus TCP, MQTT, and OPC
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with thorough knowledge to support Microsoft Windows client/server OS.
- Working knowledge of VMWare
- Familiar with Safety PLC programming
- IT security knowledge and experience
- Experience with Active Directory administration and group policy
- Proficient in Sepasoft MES
