Looking to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of New Zealand’s infrastructure? We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Geologist with field experience seeking to carve out an exciting career path in a culture of innovation, diversity & eminence

We are currently recruiting a Lead Engineering Geologist to join our team in Tauranga. This role sits in the New Zealand Transport team and will see you providing technical inputs and creating valuable solutions to support to a variety of key infrastructure projects.

- Advising and meeting with clients, working collaboratively across Aurecon teams in multidisciplinary environment
- Opportunity for multidisciplinary project management, business and client development roles where aligned with career aspiration
- Scoping and supervision of geotechnical investigations
- Development of complex engineering geological models
- Slope stability, liquefaction, settlement assessments, with some design
- Direct, where required, investigation location and sampling, specifying and interpreting in-situ testing, preparation and review of laboratory test schedules, control of samples, preparation (where required)
- Quality checking logs, sections, models and factual reports generated by others
- Production, review and verification of geotechnical factual and interpretive reports
- Natural Hazards and Resilience Studies
- Earthworks design, specifications, and construction supervision
- Line management and mentorship of junior colleagues
- Drive and support Aurecon's ground engineering digital strategy

What can you bring to the team?
- Relevant experience and a passion for blended site and office-based work
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical / Civil related discipline
