Reporting to the Campaign Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Public Relations Team with content creation and storytelling to drive fundraising.

As a Content, Writer and Coordinator, you will coordinate, plan, research clients and stories, and write creative content to tell the story of The Salvation Army and the people they support, showcasing the impact of their work towards their mission to care for people and transform lives.

The content and stories that you capture will be used in regular appeals, newsletters and across a broad range of materials, channels and events that will help support the engagement and communication with donors and stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with a real interest in interviewing people and capturing their stories—someone that naturally evokes storytelling, has good interpersonal and reporting skills, and whose writing connects with a wide audience.

You will enjoy the variety and scope of the role, freedom to be creative, ability to work flexibly and within an inclusive, collaborative and friendly team.

**Person Profile**:

- Well-developed verbal and written communication, with strong plain English writing skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification in journalism, writing, communications, marketing or PR
- Experience in some or all of the following areas would be highly advantageous: photography, design, videography
- Ability to write compelling and engaging stories
- Excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading
- An eye for detail, accuracy and style consistency
- Understanding of the visual requirements and aesthetic for various marketing channels (print, online, multimedia)
- Effective planning and time management skills
- Has a positive, friendly, can-do attitude
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Understanding and empathy towards the mission and values of the Salvation Army
- Experience in journalism, copywriting industry or content publishing would be highly advantageous
- Willing and able to travel regularly throughout NZ
- Must have a valid, full and clean NZ driver’s licence
