Are you a current public servant who is passionate about financial systems and maximizing the value of public funds? We're seeking a Funding Analyst to join our team. In this role, you'll collaborate with our team to provide robust analytical support for complex funding processes. Your expertise in finance and the machinery of government will help allocate, pay, and recover funding from TEC providers while ensuring optimal fund performance.
You will be an integral part of our Fund Specialists/ Ngā Mātanga Pūtea team who ensure TEC's investments achieve the strategic intent set by the TEC Strategy. This involves the coordination and management of the annual funding and recovery cycles, including in-year adjustments, to enable continuous improvement. The Funds span research, degree-level training, vocational training, and foundational education.
**About the Role: He angitūtanga**:
- Collaborate closely with the team to analyse and support funding processes.
- Develop methodologies for negotiating, allocating, and recovering funding.
- Collaborate with the Ministry of Education and TEC Strategy teams to enhance existing and new funds.
- Maintain up-to-date finance systems by processing financial transactions based on panel decisions and Fund Owners' guidance.
**What are we looking for? He kōrero mōu**:
Proven Knowledge and experience of government funding frameworks and experience in funding analysis.
- Proven financial analysis skills and the use of financial and analytical tools and systems, this role would ideally suit someone form a financial, commerce, accounting background.
- The ability to communicate audience centric insights from sets of numbers and to consider varied cultures and backgrounds
- Interpersonal skills to support the coordination of people and work streams across all levels of an organisation.
- A keen eye for detail and curiosity about how things work
- Essential: A relevant tertiary qualification, in finance, accounting, commerce, or social sciences.

Remuneration
The salary range for this position starts from $86k up to $102k, + 3% Kiwisaver contributions, depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
