We are looking for someone to join our team who has a genuine interest in the investment and financial markets, with relevant industry experience looking for a new opportunity.In this role you will work closely with our Portfolio Managers and Senior Analysts to contribute towards the successful performance of our Investment and KiwiSaver Funds using your analytical skills to form views on valuations, prospects, key issues and risks of the relevant companies and industries involved.This role offers an excellent opportunity for the right individual wanting to build a successful and rewarding career within our exciting industry and in return we will support you to become CFA qualified as well as providing an inspiring environment to learn with development opportunities and a remuneration package based on your contribution and the team's success.Do you have the following skills?Excellent numeric skills and an aptitude for analysing and interpreting data (quantitative skills desirable) with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detailStrong financial modelling and data analysis capabilityEffective communication skills to present your views to Portfolio ManagersStrong work ethic and a team playerStrategic and logical thinkingBased in our Wellington office, you will have the ability to work collaboratively with our team and, in addition to helping deliver superior investment performance, will contribute to the firm's proactive business development efforts to grow funds under management and be comfortable presenting to clients or consultants.To be considered for this role, you will have an excellent employment and academic record.Key requirements for the role include:A bachelor's degree and relevant industry experience (e.g., law, finance, accountancy)A professional, positive attitude and a friendly and engaging mannerA competitive mindsetA desire to undertake the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme.Who are we?Launched in November 2021, Octagon Asset Management is a boutique funds management company with a team based in Wellington, Auckland, and Queenstown.
