**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Manager Health, Safety and Wellbeing to join the team to lead the development and deployment of Auckland Transport's Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy. You will work collaboratively with the Director of People and Performance and all key stakeholders to create an environment where our people are safe and empowered to deliver Easy Journeys for Tamaki Makaurau.
As a courageous and motivational leader you will lead the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team to develop, implement and manage the safety and risk management systems, safety frameworks, programmes and tools to drive increasingly positive safety outcomes for AT and strengthen our maturity of safety culture.
You will lead, advise, and influence ELT and key stakeholders on safety strategy, plans, programmes, measures, initiatives, and emerging issues to enable safety centric decision processes and responses. This will include engagement with the Board of Directors, Elected Representatives, and suppliers to meet Auckland Transport's obligations under the PCBU requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act (SHWA).

You are a skilled strategic thinker, able to challenge the status quo to achieve change and performance improvement across AT. You will have a minimum of 10 years' leadership experience within the Occupational Health and Safety field. In addition, you will also have:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Health & Safety Management, or a related field.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience of HSEQ systems and HSWA legislation.
- Demonstrated experience developing and deploying Safety Management Systems
- Demonstrated ability to deliver improved safety
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and influence others outside of direct reporting lines including senior leaders and executive
- Experience in a complex and dynamic operating environment, including the drive and resilience to lead proactively through ambiguity and change.
- Strong emotional intelligence and strategic thinking that supports the ability to both empower and influence individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and perspectives
