We have a fantastic opportunity for Network Engineer to join our Cloud Platform Engineer team that focusses on the IT Network. Information technology is playing a growing role in public transport. As IT evolves and Auckland grows its public transport network, the is a wide ranging, fascinating IT network environment to support and grow. Be a part of shaping Auckland public transport network.

In this role you will ensure the IT network systems, whether on premise, cloud or hybrid are provisioned and managed in their lifecycle in a manner that is scalable, secure, available, measurable, supportable and consistently delivering. You will also be responsible for automation and lifecycle management of appropriate infrastructure services based on SEC/DEV/OPS requirements and priorities.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Ensure the network infrastructure is running to optimised cost and efficiency.
- Support and maintain network services at corporate sites, bus stations, ferry terminals, train stations, data centre etc.
- Develop and practice automating provisioning and management of systems in a distributed environment.
- Develop and practice lifecycle management of systems in a distributed environment (on-premise, IaaS, environments) in accordance with SEC/DEV/OPS requirements and priorities.
- Responsible for tasks associated with deployment, management, data collection, provisioning, decommissioning of networking resources.
- Implement infrastructure recommendations that contributes to system reliability, security and complexity reduction
- Manage performance and operational indicators/measures as agreed across the IT systems to ensure continuous delivery and service reliability.

As a Network Engineer, you'll have previous experience in a distributed technology environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or significant proven experience in a similar role.
- Industry certifications, such as CCNP or equivalent, as a minimum Microsoft Azure networking and scripting skills is desirable.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a distributed technology environment.
- You will bring experience with core networking technologies, examples: Firewalls, Load Balances, Routing, Switching, Security and Wireless.

You'll be an exceptional communicator, able to build effective relationships with stakeholders and have proven experience in managing third party suppliers.
