Mō te tūnga | About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Disability Advisor based in the Ikaroa-Rawhiti region.
You will provide advice and support to Oranga Tamariki managers, frontline staff and contracted partners to work confidently with disabled tamariki, rangatahi and their whanau.
You will develop effective relationships with external organisations, facilitating and supporting discussions to ensure the needs of disabled tamariki and rangatahi are met.
Annual remuneration for this position starts between $103,316 and $114,351 dependent on experience. We offer an impartial remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

**You will bring**:

- A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience relevant to disability. Alternatively, a qualification as a nurse, teacher, occupational therapist, social worker or another recognised and relevant professional background
- Experience working in the disability sector and/or personal experience of disability (either caring or personal)
- A clean, current driver's licence is essential and a willingness to drive the Ministry's vehicles
- Knowledge of and understanding of key disability related legislation and the ability to use them effectively
- Experience in supporting people to navigate the disability system successfully, even when they find it difficult to access services
