**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role**:
The Crown Property group is responsible for managing around 2 million hectares of Crown land and waterways across New Zealand including surplus crown assets, commercial and residential properties, pastoral leases and forestry licences. We administer the Treaty Settlements Landbank, acquisitions and disposals, biosecurity, and Crown Forest licenses. We provide leadership and direction for LINZ administered Crown land, looking for opportunities to maximise these assets for the benefit of New Zealanders.
You will work closely with the Principal Business Partner - Contaminated Land, to effectively deliver assigned operational work programmes and engage with the wider Crown Property team provide best practice advice, develop stakeholder relationships, and assist with strategy formulation.
You will support the delivery of projects across the Crown Property group's programme of works with a focus on sites within the Treaty Settlements Landbank. You'll have the opportunity to take on a key strategic role that makes a real contribution to Crown Property's business delivery through supporting the development and implementation of LINZ's contaminated land strategy. You will also support Toitū Te Whenua initiatives and provide, guidance and mentoring to other team members across Crown Property.
Within the team we share a friendly, collaborative style of engagement and support each other to operate smoothly and effectively, both as a business unit and as individuals. You'll leverage your excellent communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively to build strong relationships within our group, the wider business unit, across Toitū Te Whenua LINZ and with your key stakeholders.

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Experience working in the environmental industry, preferably with a focus on contaminated land.
- Relevant degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or other earth science.
- Experience scoping and costing ground investigations, undertaking procurement and managing projects and contracts with suppliers.
- A high level of written skills, including a demonstrated ability to undertake contaminated land investigations, analysis and reporting.
- Proven ability to present scientific information to a wide range of audiences, including mana whenua, stakeholders and community groups.
- Ability to build and maintaining strong working relationships with a range of teams and key stakeholders and Iwi.
- Prior experience providing advice and insights to leaders on complex matters, including areas of organisational or political risk, and proposing practical solutions.
- Experience working with iwi and / or understanding of the Treaty Settlement process preferable.
- An open and willing attitude towards cross-team collaboration and engagement combined with the diplomacy and assuredness to back yourself and your professional ability when dealing with complex situations.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work without close supervision.
- A good sense of humour, perseverance, and resilience.

The expected appointment range for this role is $102,000 to $119,000.
