We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters. The Strategy and Policy team supports Te Pou Hauora Māori | The Māori Health Directorate to be the principal policy advisor to government for Māori health matters. Te Pou Hauora Māori leads the Ministry's kaitiaki | stewardship role to ensure the Ministry is meeting its obligations to Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
We are currently recruiting for three Principal Policy Analysts within our Te Pou Hauora Māori | The Māori Health Directorate.
In this role you will play a key leadership role in the delivery of strategic policy advice in the area of Māori health, ensuring all work reflects our responsibilities to meet Treaty of Waitangi obligations and the priority of equity. You will be building and sustaining collaborative and positive relationships across the Directorate, Ministry, the wider health sector, government and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated understanding of the machinery of government and navigating the system
Demonstrated experience designing, developing and implementing analytical approaches for complex policy issues and working with, influencing and managing a range of complex stakeholders
Innovative thinking, and a demonstrated ability to think about issues in new and different ways
A deep understanding and commitment to achieving our Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations
Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
An appropriate tertiary level professional qualification and relevant work experience in policy settings.
