Are you an experienced policy professional seeking a new challenge? We have an excellent opportunity for both a talented Senior Policy Analyst and Principal Policy Analyst to join a highly regarded government agency responsible for safeguarding the essential primary industries of New Zealand.

These exciting positions are part of the Cost Recoveries Directorate, a team recognised as a leader in cost recovery across government. This incorporates the forestry, fisheries, bio security, animal welfare and food industries.

**About the Role**:
As a Senior/Principal Analyst, you will be part of a motivated and supportive team who play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate and effective cost recovery regulations. Your responsibilities will include:

- leading and contributing to policy work streams related to scoping and implementing regulatory and legislative changes
- developing and maintaining a policy framework for cost recovery
- collaborating with the Costing and Modelling team to monitor cost recovery system performance and leverage data for fee reviews
- assisting the Manager, Policy and Performance in managing general cost recovery issues.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- a relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience
- proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
- machinery of Government knowledge alongside familiarity with regulatory policy products including the creation of Regulatory Impact Statements, cabinet papers, and provision of advice to Ministers
- a minimum of three years’ strong experience in a regulatory policy role.
