Principal Advisor Behavioural Science, Justice Sector Team

This is an exciting role within the Justice Sector team, which supports the Justice Sector Leadership board (JSLB), established to lead the collective efforts of the Justice Sector agencies to drive transformation in the sector.
We are looking for a principal advisor specialising in behavioural science, who will work with stakeholders across the Justice Sector to promote the use of behavioural science to address key challenges. improve customer outcomes and increase the efficiency of processes.
**In this role you will**:

- Conduct qualitative research with customers to understand behaviour in a specific context
- Collaborate with front line staff and other teams such as Service Design and the wider research network
- Design behaviourally informed solutions and interventions that are operationally feasible;
- Conduct robust evaluations
- Test the efficacy of new approaches
- Project manage multiple projects simultaneously and
- Provide training and development to other behavioural insights staff.

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Expert level understanding of behavioural insights literature and techniques
- A good understanding of qualitative and quantitative research techniques
- Ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and effective networks across and within organisations.
- Experience working in government (Justice Sector agency preferred) or a good understanding of public sector systems and processes.
- Previous experience thriving in a fast-paced environment where you are required to influence and respond to changing needs and priorities.
- Experience communicating with a wide range of audiences on complex issues.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $128,129 and $179,192 based on skills and experience.
