**About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga**

As a Wellbeing Coach, your role is to deliver a person-centered and non-clinical support service for people living with addiction challenges. You will provide direct support to the individual and indirect support in relation to family/whanau, community living, education, employment and self-management of their wellbeing.

You will be responsible for advocating for and sharing resources with people who are recovering from addiction, and supporting them to manage their conditions whilst recognising there are multiple pathways to recovery. Ideally, you will have shared experiences with a mental health and/or addiction challenge, and are in recovery, and you will use this as a foundation upon which the peer support relationship can be built.

You will be a member of the Explore team of Wellbeing Support Specialists facilitating a range of social and clinical interventions focused on recovery and enhancement of their recovery capital, to ensure the people we support can participate positively in community life and achieve their goals. The team will work with cohesively with health providers and general practitioners to assist clients, family and whanau to provide information, advice and support tailored to the individual's strengths and needs.

**What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga**
- Previous experience working in a service delivery role, ideally involving mental health and/or addiction problems
- Minimum L3 Health and Wellbeing qualification, preferably with addiction/mental health as a primary focus
- An understanding of the Addiction Intervention Competency Framework
- A lived experience of AoD use and/or addiction and has been in sustained recovery for a minimum of 12 months
- Ability to integrate the principles of recovery into practice and promote wellbeing for clients, family and whanau
- An ability to empathise with clients, family and whanau irrespective of their circumstances
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of definitions and categories of addiction and a range of relevant therapies and interventions
- A passion and expertise for working collaboratively and developing skills in others
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, and highly developed emotional intelligence
- Understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and how these can be applied
- An understanding and commitment to multi-culturalism
- Ability to self-manage, set standards; be self-directed and self-motivated
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with project management experience
