Ratonga Hauātanga Tauira | Student Disability Services (SDS) exists to create a safe, inclusive and equitable educational environment for students with disabilities at the University of Auckland.

**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Disability Case Manager to join Ratonga Hauātanga Tauira | Student Disability Services at the University of Auckland on a fixed term basis to cover staff leave.

You will be responsible for supporting students with disabilities at the University of Auckland, through ongoing case management including assessments, provision of advice, identification of resources and appropriate referrals. In all aspects of your work, you are expected to adopt the disability rights' principle of “**nothing about us without us**”.

You will be working in a small, passionate team in a vibrant and professionally challenging environment, working to contribute to creating an inclusive educational environment for students with disabilities at the University of Auckland.

We are particularly interested in applicants with a background in allied health, especially those with experience in triaging and coordinating care.

This is a **full-time** (37.5 hours per week), 12-month **fixed-term** position.

Remuneration is $80,900 - $90,000 depending on skills and experience.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

You will have a relevant tertiary qualification, and/or bring extensive experience and practical training to the role. A minimum of 5 years' experience working in the disability sector and/or providing advice and support to people with disabilities is essential. You will enjoy working collaboratively, be skilled in communicating with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

You will also be able to work independently, have strong resilience, excellent written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail combined with sound judgment skills and a strong focus on achieving solutions.

Other attributes include:

- Proven experience and ability to assess complex needs, and to identify specific and appropriate resources and strategies to reasonably meet those needs
- Experience in case management
- Formal registration as a health professional is highly desirable
- Experience of working in a cross-cultural environment would be an advantage
