The division adds value to the University by maturing its capability in enterprise-wide project portfolio management, strategic programme delivery, and business process management.
The division also serves to enhance the quality and robustness of business cases, project assurance, and service design.
**_The role/Te mahi_**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Programme Definition to lead the definition of the University’s multi-year, enterprise-wide transformation programmes.
This role engages with all levels of stakeholders and supports the development and consistency of programme business cases for large, complex and University-wide programmes.
The role ensures that programmes have clear business justification, clear and compelling visions, and robust and relevant measures of benefit. It assures that the gaps between the current state and the target operating model are understood, and strategies are devised to bridge those gaps.
Reporting to the Director of Transformation and Improvement you will play a key role in ensuring the University achieves its organisational change goals. You will achieve this through designing the outcomes of programmes and establishing solid foundations for delivery through detailed definition and design work. This role is the key bridge between strategy and execution.

We are looking for an experienced and savvy project/programme management practitioner, with previous experience in working in the definition and/or delivery of organisation-wide programmes.
Experience we are looking for includes:
- The ability to see the big picture and translate vision/strategy into actionable plans.
- The ability to manage details while taking a holistic, benefits-focused view of the programme.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels including senior leadership.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to gain buy-in and be a strategic influencer.
- A passion for delivering transformational change.
- Comfort managing ambiguity and working in a complex and demanding environment.
- A flexible, pragmatic, positive, can-do attitude.
- Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) accreditation.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position.
