**Te Tūranga - The opportunity**

RNZ aims to develop a relationship with all the people of Aotearoa. We are setting up a news team to focus on the fast-growing Asian communities in the country, starting with the two largest, Indian New Zealanders and Chinese New Zealanders. This role is to make sure we deliver visual storytelling to the communities, on the web and social media.

**Te Mahi - About the job**

RNZ News is looking for a camera operator with a commitment to news about the underserved Indian and Chinese communities.

This is initially a 2-year fixed-term, full-time role.

Your videos and photos will help us bring New Zealand's Asian communities to life as we develop our digital platforms.

You must be a self-starter who loves working collaboratively and has a reputation for producing video and still photos at a professional level for broadcast. You will be energised and excited by a fast-moving and live news environment. You should be familiar with directing.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a visual storyteller who is committed to our goal of independent, impartial, and high-quality journalism for under-served communities.

**Ōu Pūkenga - About You**

We are looking for someone who:

- Is passionate about telling the stories of the Chinese and Indian communities
- Has worked in a live news environment and is comfortable with news, video and stills
- Is calm under pressure
- Has experience using Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Has had a hand in directing would be desirable
- Is a good communicator and familiar with web and social media publishing
- Understands RNZ’s content sharing arrangements
