The opportunity:
As Senior Manager - Strategic Analytics, you will be responsible for leading the function, working intimately with the business to define, shape and implement product management, pricing, distribution, marketing and operational strategies as well as contributing to risk management.

The Strategic Analytics function provides data driven, actionable insights to support and drive AIA’s strategy and business processes. They are responsible for designing and implementing solutions to solve business problems which may include data engineering, advanced analytics, machine learning, statistical and modelling solutions.

Key responsibilities include:
Delivery- Design and implement solutions that solve business problems and deliver shared value propositions. This will involve, where appropriate, data engineering, visualization, advanced analytics, machine learning, statistical and modelling solutions that may;- Improve strategic, operational or risk management decision making- Support digitization, automation and process improvement- Resolve compliance and regulatory obligations- Lead and manage a team of analysts and scientists, including vendors, delivery partners, contingent and cross-functional staff, as required, with a relentless focus on business value delivery through modern analytics practice.- Partner with your internal stakeholders to understand their strategic priorities and requirements, and use this to build and prioritise a roadmap and backlog of work.

Leadership- As part of the Data Analytics leadership team this role has joint accountability for data analytics strategy, delivery and operations. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Supporting Data Governance, Business Insights and Data Engineering practices.- Alignment of key metrics, and definitions across the business.-
- Shape the processes and strategies for data analytics delivery.- Establish and maintain a commitment to continuous improvement across the activities you are engaged in, including researching and deploying new practices.- Maintain knowledge and expertise in bleeding edge data analytics modelling and methodologies to inform the data analytics roadmap.- Help set the future strategic direction of AIA data analytics delivery practice.

Risk

Own operational compliance with Technology, Data and Model Policies and

Standards such as:
- Information Security, Privacy, Change Control and Architecture standards.- Model Policy, Data Governance.- Conduct Framework.- Thought leadership in ModelOps approaches.

Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet reasonable operational and/or other requirements.

Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Leadership of analytics and data science teams and projects, including working in cross-functional / matrix structures.- Thought leadership in data analytics methodologies, including data engineering, statistical and financial modelling, machine learning, visualization and model governance.- Strong commercial acumen, business process understanding and financial services experience.- Experience managing and optimizing vendor outcomes (cost/benefit).- Experience with model development life cycles such as ModelOps, as well as awareness of the SDLC, agile delivery methodologies including CI/CD, DevOps, SCRUM and SAFe.- Expert technical and/or functional understanding of AIA technology systems, processes and vendor landscape.- Ability to consult with and influence senior business and technical stakeholders to optimize data solutions between both business and technical objectives.- Inquisitive, problem solver and analytical commercial thinker.- Ability to deliver business outcomes, create cut-through and deal with ambiguity. Be able to anticipate, plan for and overcome roadblocks; define and agree strategies for technical, project delivery, story telling, and change management.
