We're seeking a skilled Data Governance and Quality Standards Team Lead to join our team and take charge of ensuring our data is effectively governed and meets the highest quality standards. In this role, you will develop robust data governance frameworks, enforce data quality standards, and ensure compliance with Government regulations.
Your efforts will directly support frontline workers in delivering Social Work Services by maintaining accurate and reliable data. If you have a passion for data integrity and want to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families across New Zealand, we encourage you to apply.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
**Key requirements of the role include**:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar field, or equivalent experience is desirable
- Ability to ensure business units and teams are adhering to data governance management processes, ensuring data quality and process compliance
- Ability to ensure Māori data sovereignty principles are incorporated into our data policy
- Experience managing data governance and data quality projects and designing and implementing data policies at a large organisation, public sector experience is preferred
- Ability to establish and implement data quality standards and controls, ensuring accuracy to our data
- Experience establishing, maintaining standards, guidelines and procedures for data management, including data analysis and/or data administration
- Ability to lead creation and maintenance of data security measures to protect data from unauthorised access
- Knowledge of emerging data governance trends and policies and ability to communicate and incorporate updates/changes effectively within the team
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
