We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist (PT) who is passionate to support and develop the future Physiotherapy workforce at Te Whatu Ora Waitematā.

This position will suit someone seeking to develop their leadership skills in the area of clinical education by coordinating and developing student learning environments across Te Whatu Ora Waitematā.

Working collaboratively with the University of Auckland, Auckland University of Technology and Waitematā staff including Professional and Clinical Leaders, team managers/leaders and Clinical Leaders, you will lead the implementation and development of the Waitematā Clinical School.

We are looking for an excellent communicator with an ability to promote professionalism, reflective and culturally safe practice and a collaborative approach to problem solving. You will need to have a strong interest in coaching and mentoring, and the ability to motivate and influence change.

The main duties of the role include:

- To plan, implement and coordinate the Clinical and Community Placement Model (CCPM) for undergraduate and masters graduate PT students within Te Whatu Ora Waitematā for the Physiotherapy clinical training schools
- To ensure a range of placement opportunities are available within Te Whatu Ora Waitematā for PT students
- To provide leadership and support for PT’s supervising physiotherapy students on clinical placement within the Te Whatu Ora Waitematā Clinical Centre.
- To assist and support supervisors of PT students to develop teaching, coaching, mentoring and clinical supervision skills to enable students to achieve their educational goals.
- To liaise with the universities who provide PT teaching to ensure curriculum requirements are met within Waitematā services.
- To work within the Te Whatu Ora Waitematā Clinical School promoting collaborative, inter-professional practice and development of the allied health workforce.

Reporting to the Chief Allied Health Scientific and Technical Professions Officer and working collaboratively with the Associate Chief Allied Health Scientific and Technical Professions Officer, this role is well supported by the Physiotherapy Professional Clinical Leader, and has close links with the Allied Health Leadership group.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have at least five years professional/clinical experience with proven leadership, relationship management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
