Wild Abalone (Paua Tuwa) and Ready to Eat Meals (Kai ora) is a division of Moana New Zealand based in Palmerston North. It is a multi-faceted operation specialising in the manufacturing of canned paua tuwa and ready to eat meals, for local and export markets.

**He aha t**ā**u e mahi ana | What You’ll Be doing**:

- **Key responsibilities**:

- Develop products, taking them through the stage gate process, from concept through to commercialisation.
- Create product concepts and formulations based on project briefs.
- Ensure projects and products meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
- Responsible for product packaging and process improvements
- Assist with HACCP plans for new products and reviews
- Ensuring best practice quality systems are in place and compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements
- Perform factory trials for developing products
- Provide support to other departments within the organisation.
- Commercialisation of new products

**Ko ng**ā** mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitu te haere |What you**’**ll need to be successful**:
You will have a minimum of two years’ experience developing products within FMCG and manufacturing environments. You will be able to take your passion for food and combine it with a sound understanding of the food science and mathematics required, to design and validate thermally processed food products. You will have the ability to simplify complex processes.

Most importantly you will be a proactive self-starter, willing to roll up your sleeves and do what-ever it takes to get the job done. Other key requirements include:

- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience in project management
- Excellent report writing skills
- Motivated to deliver exceptional results
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team

A degree in Food Technology or similar, and qualifications in Retort Operating and Canning Supervisory, and Thermal Processing of low acids foods are both highly advantageous.
