We have an opportunity for a creative, motivated Senior Advisor with heart to join our team to help develop and deliver strategy that will help shape the way we care for and support tamariki and whānau that come to the attention of the Oranga Tamariki system.
Are you an experienced strategy and/or policy thinker who is passionate about supporting the Crown to uphold its Tiriti responsibilities, ensuring it partners effectively with Māori and communities to protect our tamariki and give their whānau extra support when they need it?

Mō te tūnga | About the role
As Senior Advisor, Organisational Strategy, you will lead and support work on a range of key strategic products and collaborate to deliver the Ministry's organisational strategy. You will bring creativity and insights along with clear analytical thinking, and use your relationship skills and delivery focus to support the team and senior leaders to implement the strategy and future direction.
You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across the Ministry, along with some external engagements. Key stakeholders for the development and delivery of the strategy work programme include Māori, Partnerships and Communities; Policy; Finance; People and Leadership; Communications; our Evidence centre and others.
You will be part of a small agile team, that is working hard to help the organisation to focus on what's most important, imagine what Oranga Tamariki and the sector will look like in the future, and identify options for getting there. We provide connective tissue across the organisation, weaving together the strands of effort to pull in the same direction.

**Key requirements of the role include**:

- Experience in policy or strategy roles
- Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills
- Cultural competence, particularly in relation to Te Tiriti and Māori Crown partnership and/or a commitment to growing in this area
- Strong relationship building skills, able to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of an organisation and with external stakeholders
- Highly effective communication skills - able to communicate concisely and clearly through written and oral presentations
- A passion for working with others to solve complex problems in a fast-paced and changing environment
- A relevant tertiary qualification

Oranga Tamariki offer an impartial remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure. Annual remuneration for this position starts between $103,316 and $114,351 dependent on experience, with annual progression through tenure.
