Counties Manukau Health has established the Mangere Refugee Health Service providing primary care and other services at Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa (also known as the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre). This is a unique opportunity to work with Quota Refugees and provide health care to a population with complex and chronic health needs. Te Whatu Ora - Counties Manukau is a place where the bonds of culture and care are strong, with a culturally diverse and vibrant community, where we are innovative in our approach to health care delivery.

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and professional Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide expert nursing leadership contributing to the support and development of the service whilst delivering clinical care to the refugee population.

You will have current clinical knowledge and skills to perform clinical assessments, screening, treatment and management for refugees with unique health needs. Ideally you will have experience working with refugees and a strong understanding of their health needs with experience providing care within a general practice or urgent care clinic. Further experience working with children, women’s health, mental health and/or sexual health would be preferable. We will support the successful applicant with up-skilling if appropriate. The position will work with refugees to enable them to build trust and confidence in the NZ Health System.

The position will provide an expert clinical contribution at the organisational and regional level and make recommendations for improvement in clinical practice within the service. You will be an active member of the leadership team at the Mangere Refugee Health Service and will work collaboratively and in partnership with the team and other stakeholders. You may also be required to represent the service to key stakeholders.

**About the role**:

- Based at Te Āhuru Mōwai o Aotearoa (formerly known as the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre) with free car-parking
- Full time, Monday to Friday role with no on-call or out of hours work required
- Establish strong relationships with former refugee families, internal and external organisations, to ensure the delivery of appropriate health and social services.
- Support high standards of clinical practice and service planning in collaboration with managers and professional leaders with a strong quality focus.

**Essential requirements include**:

- Registered Nurse with a current NZ APC with no restrictions
- Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent in relevant clinical area completed or in progress
- Current Proficient or Expert PDRP
- A full NZ Driver’s Licence with no limitations
