**Mo tenei turanga - About the role**:
This is a new and exciting initiative for FENZ as we complete the establishment of Local Advisory Committees (LACs) across the country, which will help us understand community needs and risks across Aotearoa. As we complete the rollout of 16 regional LACs, the principal advisor will be responsible for strengthening LAC reporting and integrating LAC insights into our local planning processes.

You'll be instrumental in assisting LACs to meet their strategic goals and legislative mandate requirements. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and leading the implementation of a model and tools to manage LACs insights at a Board and district level that is scalable for 16 LACs and effective for LACs that include larger metropolitan areas in Auckland, Wellington, and Canterbury. You'll work at a strategic level to ensure LAC insights and advice link to our planning processes and the organisation's outcomes.

This is a fixed term position for one year.

**Ko tau na i tenei turanga - What you'll bring to the role**:
Hit the ground running in this fixed term position using your excellent project management skills and experience engaging with stakeholders and building effective relationships. You will be an experienced Principal Advisor, with strong analytical and problem-solving capability able to navigate governance structures and boards. Bring your highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to relate to and gain the confidence of diverse stakeholders.

**To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will be**:

- Strong problem solving and decision-making capability, including the ability to identify problems, manage or mitigate risks and create innovative solutions that align with strategic direction.
- Politically savvy and able to navigate the machinery of government, governance structures and boards.
- Experienced in developing and implementing tools and processes suitable for implementation and deployment at all levels of an organisation.
- Proven track record in working within a project or advisory team in a relevant area to achieve high standards of excellence using project management principles to set priorities, goals and tracks progress to ensure objectives are achieved within a reasonable timeframe.
- An excellent communicator and presenter; with experienced in developing papers and reports to an executive level.
- Experienced in providing sound monitoring, reporting and evaluation across a programme of work and developing initiatives to improve effectiveness.
- Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of tikanga and Te Ao Maori

**The salary range for this role is $136,874 - $152,082 (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.**
