We are seeking expressions of interest for Senior Maintenance Technicians to help - without you, parcels coming into New Zealand from all around the world won't go anywhere, so we need you to help us deliver what people care about
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Our flagship Auckland site - the Auckland Processing Centre (APC for short) is being built and will be ready early 2023 for a new Engineering team. Our 66,000 square metre facility is the gateway for inbound parcel processing. At peak time, our machines will process approximately 34,000 parcels per hour, using the latest Daifuku/Fives Sorting equipment and software.
This is a rare opportunity for you to be involved right from the start - from building, commissioning and testing, through to go-live and the ongoing maintenance of our brand new state-of-the-art equipment. If you enjoy delivering meaningful work that makes a real difference to our people and New Zealand, join our Senior Maintenance team and you'll receive full training and support to deliver your best work.
Once a full Maintenance team is appointed, as well as being a hands-on technician for both planned and breakdown maintenance, you will build the shift roster and provide leadership and next level technical support for the team.
Mōu - About youYou will offer a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role/environment, with strong electrical or mechanical technical aptitude. You may already have some team / people responsibilities or be looking to step up, as such, your relationship building, and people skills will be strong or developing well.
You'll find joy in solving problems while remaining calm and logical under pressure, ensuring any breakdowns get back on track as smoothly and efficiently as possible. You'll couple this with;
- Either New Zealand Electrical Registration or Electrical Service Technician Registration with papers A & B OR
- A Mechanical Engineering qualification
- 5 years minimum as an electrical/mechanical technician
- High level control system or programming experience is desirable
- Must be comfortable to work at heights (5-7 metres - safety training will be provided)
Haora Mahi - Hours / Roster Initially the role will be standard business hours, on a day shift Mon-Fri. However, after go-live, you will move to a rotational roster, which will include a mix of day, afternoon and night shifts, including a weekend day.
