Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity - Asset Data Analyst The Asset Management Data Standard (AMDS) is a collaboration between Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Te Ringa Maimoa - Transport Excellence Partnership and the transport sector to improve the management of land transport infrastructure asset information that supports best decisions about New Zealand's land transport assets. AMDS is a data standard that informs activity management decisions for transport so we can plan and implement activities which deliver services as expected for the cost expected. It is a common language that describes the service, impact, and asset lifecycle across the transport system and partners. The purpose of this role is to support the ongoing development and maintenance of the Asset Management Data Standard (AMDS) through robust data analysis, collecting, and interpreting of data and providing advice and support in relation to changes and updates to the data standard, release schedules and versions, quality assurance and reporting and new training requirements. This role sits within our Data Management team, within our Digital group and provides the opportunity to work in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the new data standard is implemented and maintained across the transport sector and provides the foundation for the land transport sector to work towards a digital engineering and BIM (Building Information Modelling) approach. Ko koe tēnei | About you To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Proven experience in a data management role with a strong focus on analysis
- Experience as a data analyst with previous success in the retrieval and manipulation of data
- A good understanding of asset management systems and/or asset life cycles
- Exposure to the transport industry and knowledge of asset management is highly desirable
- A business analyst background with specific experience working with ontologies or information architectures, along with designing data structures
- Previous experience in assessing data quality
- Proficiency in one or more of SQL, Power BI, Azure, Synapse Analytics, SSRS, Tableau, Python, R, Mongo
- The ability to translate data into reports and dashboards
- A creative and analytical mindset
- Excellent communication and presentation skills

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
