**THE PROJECT**
Ventia have been engaged by Auckland Council to provide full Facility Management services including planned, preventive and reactive maintenance services, ad hoc services, minor works and soft services, for 8 local boards. The facilities include buildings, parks, beaches, public toilets, pathways and forest tracks. This role covers the areas in the North Shore Region
**THE ROLE**
This role involves the management of 2 direct employees and around 45 indirect staff in our General Services Team (bins, public facilities cleaners, street sweepers, water blasters etc). Reporting to the Operations Manager, your success in this facilities manager role will be heavily dependent upon your ability to communicate effectively and build very strong working relationships with your client contacts. Where possible must anticipate problems and help your team to make changes to avoid them, or identify problems, formulate a solution and communicate the pathway to the desired outcome to the client. Our client has high expectations in relation to process compliance, so you must build good habits and a strong culture of discipline within the team to meet these expectations. You should have a high degree of visibility to your team and your client contacts and as such there will be a decent amount of local travel.
**YOU**
Your strong background in FM, together with an energetic, enthusiastic personality will help you to succeed in this role. A desire to satisfy your customers and an ability to deal with lots of different types of people both within your team and amongst your client contacts are essential. You don’t need to have managed a huge team in the past, but in one of your previous roles you should have managed a team that contained a variety of different skillsets.
Your track record as a coach, leader and mentor of people will ensure that your team have a clear understanding of best asset maintenance practices, and are provided with technical advice when required. Your diligence and attention to detail will guarantee that contract deliverables including periodic document reviews are met on time.
**Qualifications and experience requirements.**
- Substantial experience in a similar role, or in an operations management role somewhere in the facilities management world.
- Substantial experience in the General Services, Cleaning, Sanitation and Waste space
- An energetic personality and a proactive approach to customer service.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
