The Data Lake Specialist position is a new position within the Platform Team, and plays a crucial role in supporting, developing, managing, and optimizing our data lake and its integration with ezyVet.
This role focuses on providing a high-level of customer support to ensure data quality and consistency across the platform, facilitating sophisticated data analysis and reporting capabilities. The technology stack revolves significantly around AWS services, MySQL databases, and various reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
The Data Lake Specialist will also strategize and implement data ingestion, storage, and retrieval processes, aiming for scalability, security, and efficiency to support the dynamic reporting needs of our customers.
But what is ezyVet? ezyVet is a cloud based Veterinary Practice Management Software and Vet Radar is a workflow management software. We provide easy to use Software that helps veterinary practices save time, increase revenue, communicate better with clients and reduce workload stress.

So what are we looking for?
Contribute and maintain the architecture of the data lake, ensuring optimal data storage, integration, and accessibility.
Manage data ingestion and consolidation processes, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Develop and maintain scalable reporting solutions and dashboards in chosen reporting tools.
Translate high-level business requirements into technical designs and actionable insights.
Provide technical guidance in SQL query optimization and report creation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address data-related needs.
Proactively identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and data integrity issues.
Develop, maintain, and optimize data visualization and dashboard design.
Encourage best practices in data management and reporting throughout the organization.
Create and maintain documentation for data processes and reporting guides.
**What you will bring**:
Intermediate understanding of SQL (MySQL in particular).
Proficiency in at least one reporting tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Demonstrable experience in designing and maintaining business reports.
Knowledge of data visualization and dashboard design best practices.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Initiative to improve documentation and support processes
