**About the role**

With a focus on excellence and exciting projects on the horizon we are currently seeking a Technical Services Manager to support our operational teams to deliver optimal performance. Primarily responsible for providing and delivering technical advice and training for all current industry best practice activities and/or regulatory requirements to our teams.

You’ll also be involved with identifying SMEI or regulatory changes and possible impacts to the business, providing solutions and rolling these out to the business. There will be a need to participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses to ensure best practice outcomes.

A key part of the role is also to mentor and train our operational managers and field teams in best practice processes and procedures which includes trainees.

Supporting our wider Network Services teams across the North Island you can choose to be based in any of our Downer offices - Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Tauranga, Whanganui, Matamata, Paeroa, Morrinsville, Coromandel.

Knowledge of electricity distribution is essential along with a technical aptitude to stay abreast of industry standards and regulations. You’ll have proven yourself to be a natural relationship builder able to develop trust with your stakeholders as well as a skilled communicator with a strong focus on customer service. With a commitment to continuous improvement you’ll show the initiative, drive and organisational skills to make it happen. Ideally you may also offer:

- Electricity Distribution or Transmission industry experience
- National Certificate in Adult Education & Training (Level 4) and/or other relevant qualification
- Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel & Powerpoint
- Experienced in the coordination and delivery of technical training for the Electrical industry
- Experience in incident investigations
