About the role_**

Due to an internal promotion we’re looking for an experienced communications and engagement manager to join our team.

The work is fast-paced, varied and challenging, requiring someone with a broad skill set. You need to be able to help advise on direction and develop a sound comms and/or engagement plan - but you also need to be able to deliver it through to the end.

Key elements of this position will include:

- Leading the development and implementation of communication and engagement strategies for Council work programmes
- Providing effective communications and engagement advice and support to protect and grow our organisation’s reputation.
- Supporting the business to continue to develop and implement effective community engagement initiatives
- Develop and use good content across our channels

About you_**

To be successful for this role you will need to have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, excellent communication and analytical thinking. You will be highly organised, with great time management skills and attention to detail.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need passion and energy for building connections. You'll have a few years’ experience under your belt, with the ability to advise and influence, as well as undertake a wide range of communications tasks - from planning, to writing, to website updates to face to face engagement. Your strength will be your ability to think strategically and connect the dots

You will need to be creative, adaptable with the ability to pivot as needed, and have superb time management. A degree or diploma in communications, journalism, or public relations would be an advantage.
