**Job Description**:
Microchip’s Frequency and Time Systems group is the world leader in precise time solutions and sets the world's standard for time. The company generates, distributes, and applies precise time for communications, power, aerospace/defense, IT infrastructure, and metrology industries. Microchip is seeking an entry-level Applications Engineer to join our team.

As an Application Engineer focused on precision frequency and timing, you will engage with customers to create high value technical solutions, help solve challenging timing problems, reduce risk, and increase profitability, while mutually contributing to the success of Microchip Technology. You will support and grow our business in the US, Europe, and Asia.

The position will work closely with the product management, solutions architecture, marketing, business development, and research and development teams as well as Microchip sales teams and global channel partners to develop technical solutions to meet diverse customer needs. Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers and our global sales and distribution partners to define requirements, manage deliverables, aid with design wins, and support-
- Design system level solutions to meet customer requirements- Develop technical demonstrations of systems solutions- Create detailed technical proposals to meet customer requirements.- Provide thought leadership, be innovative, and articulate value proposition- Develop and provide product training to customers, global sales and distribution partners, and internal teams

Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline- Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and across multiple geographical locations- Work independently, and in a team environment- Ability to effectively communicate technical principles and results in written and verbal formats- Curious and creative towards new concepts and technology- Be a self-starter and able to initiate and complete tasks with minimum supervision- Can travel internationally occasionally
