This is an exciting opportunity to join a driven and professional internal audit team within the Auditing, Risk and Evaluation directorate.
The main purpose of the position is the provision of high-quality assurance services that support delivery of the Directorate's vision to Assure, Advise, and Anticipate. This is a senior position working alongside a high performing team.
The position supports the Manager Audit, Research and Evaluation with advising management on control effectiveness, change initiatives, enhancements to risks management relating to the three lines of defence and other matters, including business effectiveness and efficiency.
You will be providing insightful analysis to allow the anticipation of risks within MPI, guiding management on implementing interventions before risks materialise, and assisting the business to develop preventative responses.
You will also be providing project management expertise to enable co-source internal audits and deliverables and seamless execution of the assigned programme of work.

Mōu - About You
To be successful in this role, you will have in-depth knowledge and experience in auditing and assurance. Business process improvement and analysis experience is also desirable.
You will need to have strong experience in planning and conducting audits, reviews, and investigations of core business and operational systems and processes.
You will also possess a relevant qualification (CA/CPA/CISA/CIA), with a minimum of 5 years in an assurance position.
Previous use of business intelligence and data analytics tools will be beneficial.
The role is strongly stakeholder focused, and requires someone with strong oral and written communication skills, and an ability to think innovatively about communicating information to customers.
A background in Public Sector assurance is preferable.

The Wellington-based Internal Audit Team sits within the Audit, Risk and Evaluation Directorate. The team provides valued assurance to MPI's Senior Leadership Team by undertaking a programme of planned reviews across all parts of MPI's diverse operations. The advice of the team is actively sought by senior leadership, and we have a track record of delivering responsively.
